BALL GAMES

BALL GAMES
Made under Section 23(2) of the Housing Act 1985
1. In these byelaws "land" means any area of land held by the Council of the Borough of Shrewsbury and Atcham by virtue of Section 12 of the Housing Act 1985 (not being land covered by buildings, included in the curtilage of any building or forming part of the highway) and on which a notice is posted indicating the extent of that area of land and warning persons of their liability under these byelaws.
2. No person shall:
(a) play with a ball; or
(b) take part in any ball game
on land in a manner which is likely to cause annoyance to or disturb any person occupying adjoining premises.
3. Provided that this byelaw shall not apply to a person who is under the age of 12 years.
A person who offends against the foregoing byelaw shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding ONE HUNDRED POUNDS (£100).
