Business Rates (non-domestic rates)
What are Non Domestic Rates?
Non Domestic Rates or Business rates as they are more commonly known is the way that those who occupy Non Domestic property contribute towards the cost of local services.
Except in the City of London where special arrangements apply, the collected rates are paid into a Central Pool and redistributed to Local Authorities according to the population of that area.
This money, together with the revenue from Council Tax and other Government Grants is used to pay for services provided by your Council and other local authorities in your area.
