The economic development Service works with and for local businesses, in conjunction with other local agencies, to improve the conditions for growth, safeguard jobs and attract inward investors. Links, and services currently provided as follows:-

• Production of research material on economic data and trends - phone or e-mail enquiries which will be responded to within 5 working days to david.griffiths@shrewsbury.gov.uk
• Business enquiries (phone or e-mail as above), plus sign-posting service to other business support agencies:-Find out about other Business Support services and Start-up advice provided by Business Link West Mercia at - http://www.bl-shropshire.co.uk/. Young Enterprise support and advice also available at http://www.princes-trust.org.uk/. 
• Partnership project support for innovative regeneration schemes in conjunction with Shropshire Partnership 
• Production of a Business Areas Directory - Free to individuals or businesses, phone or e-mail for your copy. Plus opportunities for local businesses to promote themselves via the on-line business directory - companies can enter their own details and edit whenever necessary.
• Working with the local Shrewsbury Business Chamber which is an organisation for all businesses within the area, providing a voice for local companiesand working for the good of Shrewsbury in a number of ways e.g. Safety, Arts, Tourism, Britian in Bloom to name but a few.
• Facilitating your planning and development requirements. Specific planning permission through Planning Department
