Who Can Use Shopmobility?
Anyone of any age who has difficulty walking around our town centre may hire a vehicle.
How Much Does It Cost?
£2.50 for all powered vehicles
£1.50 for manual wheelchairs
(subject to annual review)
How To Use The Service
If you are using an electric vehicle for the firs time, Shopmobility staff will be pleased to show you how each vehicle is operated.
Please bring along some form of positive identification showing your name and proof of address (e.g.. driving licence, utility bill etc)
When you have received adequate instruction and are confident with the operation of the vehicle ..... off you go!
Extra Benefits
Booking in advance is not essential but does help us to provide you with your choice of vehicle.
When hiring a vehicle as a Shopmobility Shrewsbury member using the Raven Meadows Car Park you are entitled to a parking concession and a reserved parking space (subject to availability).
They also provide a service at several outside events held locally throughout the year. (e.g.. The Shrewsbury Flower Show - advance booking is essential to avoid disappointment).
Staff and Volunteer Team
You can be sure of a warm welcome at all times. Staff and volunteers are always happy to help and nothing is too much trouble... all you have to do is ask.
Fleet Information
Shopmobility are very proud of their fleet of vehicles and hope that you will enjoy your visit to Shrewsbury.
The following vehicles are available for you to hire:
- Three and four wheeled scooters
- Powered wheelchairs with dual control units for Carer assistance
- Manual wheelchairs with large and small wheels. A child's manual wheelchair age: 3-7yrs
- We also operate a short term loan scheme of all manual wheelchairs:
