The Overview Committee (formerly the Overview and Scrutiny Committee) is the part of the Council's decision making process that is responsible for supporting the work of the Cabinet and the Council as a whole.  It allows the public to have a greater say in Council matters by holding public enquiries into matters of local concern.  These lead to reports and recommendations which advise the Cabinet and the Council as a whole on its policies, budgets and service delivery.  The Committee is forward looking in being responsible for reviewing forthcoming decisions and the development of policy and undertakes the Council's Best Value responsibilities.

Councillors Freestone, Kenny, Parkhurst JP and Mrs Sandford MBE have been appointed as substitute members.

 

Committee dates have been programmed into the timetable.

 

Members of the public are allowed to participate in public question time sessions at the Committee.
