01/08 DINGLE BUNGALOW, PONTESBURY, SHREWSBURY

(Councillor Lord was not in attendance at the commencement of this item and therefore, took no involvement in the discussion or decision made by the Committee on this item).

Consideration was given to a report of the Planning Services Manager in respect of a reference from the Development Control and Environmental Protection Committee held on the 4th December 2007 in relation to the erection of a three bedroom replacement dwelling and formation of new vehicular accesses following demolition of existing dwelling at Dingle Bungalow, Pontesbury, Shrewsbury (Application Reference: 07/1474/F).

 

The Development Control and Environmental Protection Committee failed to determine the application. In accordance with the planning procedure adopted by the Council, the application had been referred to the Planning Committee for determination.

Members had visited the site.

RESOLVED:

That the application for the erection of a three bedroom replacement dwelling and formation of new vehicular accesses following demolition of existing dwelling at Dingle Bungalow, Pontesbury, Shrewsbury (Application Reference: 07/1474/F) be approved for the following reason:

Z102I…The size, design and location of the proposed dwelling would not detract from the character and appearance of the locality or the residential amenity of neighbouring property.

Include the following conditions:

Before the relevant parts of the work are commenced, sample panels of stonework, demonstrating the colour, texture, face bond and pointing shall be submitted to and approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority and the development completed in accordance with the approved sample panel.

Reason: In order to ensure a satisfactory appearance to the dwelling in a very prominent position near to the public footpath.

Members of the Planning Committee determined that the application be approved contrary to Officer advice for the reason stated above.
