The Planning Committee meets on an ad-hoc basis to determine on behalf of the Council:
- Any proposed refusal of a deemed planning permission or to refer back to the Cabinet of a decision to seek planning permission.
- Any permission which if approved would constitute a significant departure from the Development Plan.
- Any controversial application which has failed to be determined after being considered by the Development Control and Environmental Protection Committee.
