Licensing Policy consultation (Licensing Act 2003, Section 5)

On 07 February 2005 the first stage of the Licensing Act 2003 comes into force.  Section 5 of the Act requires each licensing authority to prepare and publish a statement of its licensing policy every three years. Such a policy must be published before the authority carries out any function in respect of individual applications made under the terms of the 2003 Act.

Licensing authorities from Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Oswestry, North and South Shropshire have jointly produced a Shropshire Districts' statement of policy.  This was made available for a statutory 12-week consultation period from 28 July 2004 until 20 October 2004.
