Breastfeeding

Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council are actively promoting a supportive environment for breastfeeding mothers as part of their Shropshire Healthy Eating Award. This supports one of the objectives in the Breastfeeding manifesto, which has been produced in consultation with over thirty UK organisations including UNICEF UK, the Royal College of Nursing and Midwives, the National Childbirth Trust and Best Beginnings. It sets it seven key objectives to improve awareness of the health benefits of breastfeeding and its role in reducing health inequalities across the UK.
