Park and Ride

The Borough Council manage, in partnership with Shropshire County Council, the 3 Shrewsbury Park and Ride sites at:

  • Oxon - 490 spaces - off A458 Welshpool Road, to the West. Site Location Map  (sat nav post code SY3 5AH)
  • Meole Brace - 659 spaces - off A5112 Hereford Road, to the South. Site Location Map   (sat nav post code SY3 8NB)
  • Harlescott - 677 spaces - off A5112 Whitchurch Road, to the North. Site Location Map  (sat nav post code SY1 4AB)

Using this link will help you choose the most convenient Park & Ride site to use depending from which direction you travel to Shrewsbury.

The map below shows the Town Centre routes and stops of the 3 services.  Shrewsbury can sometimes suffer traffic delays and we suggest you allow 15 - 30 minutes for your journey from the sites into the town centre

Park and Ride map

Services operate every 10 minutes from:

7.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday
8.00am to 6.30pm Saturday
(last bus from Town at 6.30pm)

Park & Ride Height Restrictions - 2 metres

Security measures have been enhanced and this has made our Park & Ride sites a safer environment for car users and their cars.  Unfortunately this means height restricting barriers are in place (2m), thus preventing direct access for motor homes and other taller vehicles.

However, to allow visitors with motor homes or other taller vehicles to continue to use the sites, we have made arrangements with the Park & Ride bus drivers to open the barriers on request to allow these vehicles access and park on site.  Requests for the release of these vehicles from the site should be made before the last bus leaves at the end of the day, (1800 hours).

Additional Services

A special service is provided from the three car parks on Bank Holiday Mondays, the Flower Show and late night shopping prior to Christmas.
Please see our Rough Guide to identify your most convenient site.

All 3 sites have closed circuit television security in the car park.

Cycle parking is available at the Meole Brace and Oxon sites only.

All buses have special low floor access at the front and are ideal for parents with pushchairs and people who are less mobile. They also have a ramp to enable access for wheelchair users.

All tickets allow you to make one journey (shop and hop) within the town centre as well as the return trip.

Park and Ride Stops in the Town Centre

Railway Station, Castle Street, Dogpole, High Street, Shoplatch, Barker Street and Chester Street. Also Frankwell (Oxon service only) and Old Potts Way (Meole Brace service only).
