Residents Parking
On-Street Permits
As part of the integrated transport plan for Shrewsbury, and in order to control the on-street parking places within the Town Centre, the area bounded by the river and referred to in the Traffic Regulation Order as the 'Zone', is a Pay and Display area. Pay & Display tickets are required, to use short stay on-street car parking.
If as a resident of the Zone, you need to make more extensive use of these on-street spaces, you may purchase Resident Parking Permits. These are multi-use vouchers available at a concessionary price of £6.00, but permitting up to 10 uses within the regulations. You can purchase up to 10 permits initially which are only available from SABC.
In the absence of a pay and display ticket, a Permit must be clearly displayed and validated whenever you park on-street within the Zone between the hours of 08:30 and 18:00 hours (Monday to Saturday including bank holidays). There is unlimited waiting to holders of Permits thus allowing longer waiting times than other users, however the Permit must have all consecutive periods validated with the same date and time of arrival.
An application form is available to download which should be completed and sent to us with proof of residency, vehicle keepership, and payment for the appropriate amount to:
Customer Services, Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council, The Guildhall, Frankwell Quay, Shrewsbury, SY3 8HQ.
(Please make cheques payable to Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council).
Application forms are also obtainable from Customer Services who may be contacted on 01743 281000.
Subsequent purchases, provided details of your address and vehicle have not changed, can be made to this address by letter accompanied by the appropriate remittance.
