Geraint Morgan, Council Manager said "There are still a large number of schemes to be completed by 31 March 2009 but I am pleased with our progress so far."
Councillor Charles Armstrong, Portfolio holder for Capital Projects said "In times when all we seem to hear is bad news, it is a relief to be able to pass on some good news. Next year we change over to the new council system for Shropshire but life still goes on. The staff at SABC are still providing an excellent service to the area and this provision of improved and new facilities shows that we still have a high target to provide the most affordable and value for money facilities whilst at the same time offering facilities second to none. Over the next six months we will see the opening of Theatre Severn and the start of the new Heritage centre at the Old Music Hall. The hard work goes on and we should thank all those in and connected to the council for this work at this time of change".
