Local Alert
This is our email subscription service, provided in partnership with Bridgnorth District Council and South Shropshire District Council. By registering your details, you can opt to receive email alerts of a range of fast changing local information, including job vacancies and planning applications.
In addition to an email, for some alerts we may send an SMS text message. To receive SMS messages you need to enter your mobile phone number, this SMS service is free.

NEW - Flooding Alerts
Flooding alerts have now been added to the Local Alert service for Shrewsbury. You can register for the Local Alert service, or if you already receive Local Alerts you can sign in to opt to receive flooding alerts.
Flooding alerts are sent by email and SMS and provide emergency updates on flooding and access in Shrewsbury Town Centre. Please note that small changes to flood levels are not sent.
Terms of Use
- SMS messages are currently free, although we reserve the right to charge in future depending on demand. If you register for alerts now you will not be charged in future without your consent.
- Local Alert system is intended to be a useful service to residents and visitors. We endeavour to provide up-to-date and accurate information through the service, however Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council accepts no responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of Local Alerts.
