Key Play Scheme
What is the Key Play Scheme?
It's simple! Rent a key to gain access to sports facilities not normally available during the daytime periods.
The Key Play Scheme has been introduced by Shrewsbury Leisure for the benefit of Borough residents. The scheme is designed to enable access (via rented gate key) to sporting facilities at locations that are not normally manned or available for public use during all or certain time periods.
What locations and facilities are included in the scheme?
- Monkmoor Recreation Ground
- Silks Meadow (Frankwell)
- All Saints (Castlefield)
Who is eligible for inclusion in the scheme?
The scheme is available only to residents of the Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough.
Persons under 16 years of age must have parental consent to apply for inclusion in the scheme.
One application per household.
When can I have access to the facilities?
Monkmoor Recreation Ground
- Monday - Friday 10.00am to 3.30pm except
- Wednesday - 10.00am to 1.30pm
April to February inclusive but excluding school holiday periods.
Silks Meadow
- Monday - Friday 10.00am to 6.00pm
April to September inclusive
All Saints
- Monday - Friday 10.00am to 6.00pm
How much does it cost?
Monkmoor Recreation Ground
£54.00 April to February inclusive (but excluding school holidays)
Silks Meadow / All Saints
£27.00 per season (April to September inclusive)
Plus returnable Key Deposit of £10.00
Corporate Key Scheme for use by schools and other organisations is available.

How do I join the Key Play Scheme?
The scheme is administered by Shrewsbury Leisure at Central Administration

You need to complete the application form below - it is important you bring along the following:
- Proof of Residency
- Proof of Identity
- Two facial photographs (passport size)
- The appropriate fee
