Shrewsbury Sports Village is located on Sundorne Road in the north-east of Shrewsbury; see map.

How to find us

On foot: the sports village is only 10-20 minutes' walk from residential areas in Sundorne, Ditherington, Harlescott and Mount Pleasant. There is a pedestrian crossing on Sundorne Road at the entrance to the sports village. It can also be reached on foot from the bridleway on the old canal path (National Cycle Route 81)

By bicycle: National Cycle Route 81 from Shrewsbury to Wellington passes the sports village and provides a direct link to it. The route into the centre of Shrewsbury (the Quarry) takes 20-30 minutes by bicycle and is traffic-free for most of the way. Copies of the maps are available at the sports village. Secure cycle parking is provided.

By bus: Mondays-Saturdays: Service 24 runs from the town centre every 12 minutes until 7pm approx. The nearest bus stop is on Moston Road opposite the sports village (see map). The evening bus service is the 25A (approx hourly)

Services 519 to Newport and 513 to Wem run approx every 2 hours during the daytime and stop on Sundorne Road.

There is no bus service on Sundays

By train: Shrewsbury railway station is about 3 miles from the sports village. For information on train services go to www.nationalrail.co.uk or telephone 08457 48 49 50.

The railway station is about 5 minutes' walk from the bus station. There is a taxi rank at the railway station, and secure cycle parking is provided.


By car: Car parking is provided at the sports village, including a drop-off area and coach parking.
You are encouraged to car share when visiting the sports village, to reduce fuel costs and congestion on local roads.
