Meole Brace is a peripheral suburb of Shrewsbury, having once existed independently of the town as a Saxon village and later as a medieval township.  The Meole Brace Conservation Area was originally designated in 1972, and comprised the historic core of the settlement centred on the Church, glebeland and the ornamental grounds to Meole Brace Hall.  An extension to the Conservation Area boundary was approved in 2006.

The following document contains a full appraisal of the Meole Brace Conservation Area. The purpose of the document is to identify those parts of the Conservation Area that should be preserved and enhanced. It also contains proposals for improvement.
