Design and Access Statements

Changes to the Development Control System:

Department for Communities and Local Government Circular 01/2006. 12 June 2006.

From the 10th August 2006 all Planning, Listed Building and Householder Development (only within Conservation Areas; Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty or Sites of Special Scientific Interest) Applications in the Shrewsbury Borough will require the submission of a Design and Access Statement.
 
The Council will be prohibited from registering your application without such a statement and you will receive an invalid letter from us to this effect.

The purpose of a Design and Access Statement is to explain the design principles and ideas that have been considered for the proposed development and how issues relating to access to the development have been dealt with and the attachment below is Checklist which will assist you completing one.
