Each application in our Planning Register and weekly list on this website provides customised links to our online comment form which simplifies the process by filling in application reference, location and description for you.

If you prefer, you can e-mail your comments to us at: planningdevelopmentcontrol@shrewsbury.gov.uk.

You should state clearly which application you are referring to, and stating why you think permission should or should not be given.

If you email comments to us on planning applications you must include your name and address. This will enable us to see how close to a development proposal you are and assess the possible impact on you.

You must send you comments as soon as possible, as a time limit is set for the receipt of comments to enable each application to be decided as quickly as possible to meet the Governments targets. Please quote the application reference number. If you do not know the reference number please give as much information as you can such as the site address or the applicants name.

You will only be notified of a decision on applications that you have made representations on.

Please note your letter will be available for others to read as it is placed on the public file with the other documents relating to the planning application.

You comment letter or email will also be published on the council's internet planning register, letters will be scanned. 

In order to preserve your privacy, we will do our best to remove certain personal information from communication that we intend to publish online, including:

• signatures
• personal email addresses
• car registration numbers

Since we cannot guarantee to remove every piece of personal information, you should bear in mind the following tips:

• Comment on one application per email/letter
• Avoid disclosing personal details (other than your name and address) about yourself or any other person.
• Do not refer to any other matters or business that is not directly related to the planning application on which you are commenting.
