5.0 Consultation and Next Stages

5.1 This Scoping Report has been published for consultation and comments are particularly welcome to enable us to have a thorough Strategic Environmental Assessment. The Report has been circulated widely to the public, interest groups and organisations including Shropshire County Council, Shropshire Wildlife Trust, the Community Strategy Environment Theme Group, Environment Agency, Countryside Agency, English Nature and English Heritage.

5.2 The chart in figure 1 sets out how the stages of the SEA and the Local Plan Review fit together and how the environmental and sustainability considerations can be integrated into the Local Development Document's policies and plans.

5.3 The next stage of the SEA/SA process is to collect the baseline data as identified in Appendix 2. At the same time, Local Development Document policies and proposals will be drafted to reflect the guidance contained in the relevant plans and policies as set out in Appendix 1 and the results of the consultation on the Issues Paper will be assessed.

5.4The draft Environmental Report will be produced alongside the draft Local Development Document in spring / summer 2004.
