Archived Shrewsbury and Atcham Local Development Framework

From 1st April 2009 Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council will be replaced by a Unitary Council for Shropshire. Consequently work on the Borough Local Development Framework has ceased.

Between 2003 and 2007 the Borough Council made considerable progress on its Local Development Framework, as detailed below. The Borough's withdrawn Core Strategy, Adopted Statement of Community Involvement, Annual Monitoring Reports and superseded Local Development Scheme can be accessed following the menu on the left.

New Unitary Local Development Framework

The county, borough and district councils have agreed to develop a single Core Strategy for the new unitary council area. On 9 April 2008 the IE approved a draft joint Local Development Scheme (LDS) which sets out the timetable for the joint LDF. The LDF will replace the current Local Plans for all the districts in Shropshire and the County Councils Waste Local Plan. If you would like to know more about the LDF visit http://www.shropshire.gov.uk/onecouncil.nsf/open/9F27FFF920EFF05C802574330056A6D2

Evidence Base

The evidence base collected for the Borough's Local Development Framework will be rolled forward to input into the Unitary Council's Local Development Framework.  The Strategic Flood Risk Assessment, the Annual Monitoring Report and the Five Year Housing Supply Statement (see menu to left) form part of this evidence base.
