Consideration of Received Comments

Introduction

In July 2003 the Key Issues Paper was published. A consultation period ran for 6 weeks finishing on Monday 29th September 2003. During which over 1700 comments were received and have been summarised and included on this website.

Comments received have been reported to the Council's Local Plan Advisory Group for consideration at a series of meeting between 2003 - 2005 and used to inform preparation of Core Strategy Preferred Options Report.

This document sets out the officer responses to the Key Issues Paper Responses, and the subsequent recommendations agreed by the Local Plan Advisory Group. These recommendations have then been used as a basis for work on Preferred Options for the Core Strategy, but some have been revisited in the light of further information received eg the Borough Housing Needs Study. Also many recommendations were too detailed to be directly used for the Core Strategy and need to be reconsidered to feed appropriately into the documents to form the Local Development Framework.
