1. We will do our best to provide good value to our customers and deliver the following services to the highest quality:

2. We will endeavour to apply, and encourage others to adopt, the waste hierarchy of:
- Reduce
- Reuse
- Recycle
- Recover
and in doing so we will strive to achieve the statutory recycling targets and divert waste from landfill to more beneficial technologies.
3. We will conserve the rich wildlife and countryside in and around Shrewsbury, and improve opportunities for people to enjoy and appreciate their natural heritage through quiet recreation and participation.
4. We will work to enhance the borough by encouraging and providing excellent horticultural and arboricultural standards within parks, gardens and the street environment.
5. We will work to keep the environment free of litter, graffiti and fly-posting, and prosecute offenders where they can be identified.
6. We will provide advice and educational support to the community to encourage and support efforts to apply the waste hierarchy.
7. We will seek to identify our customers’ needs and aspirations and develop services to meet them wherever possible.
8. We will treat our customers courteously and with respect, and respond to requests, enquiries and complaints promptly, ensuring that communications are acknowledged within 10 working days.
9. We will create civic pride by providing a safe, tidy environment, for residents and tourists to enjoy improving their quality of life. Providing recreational areas and facilities for the public to pursue hobbies, a variety of sporting activities or just to relax.
